FAQ & troubleshooting
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Access
I sent /start but the bot says it's early access.
The bot is invite-only while we test. You'll be able to get in once we open it up more widely.
Wallet & keys
Do I need a wallet or a seed phrase?
No. A wallet is created for you when you /start β nothing to write down. If you ever want full custody, export your private key under Wallet β More β Security (or /export).
Is my money safe? Who controls my wallet?
The wallet is managed for convenience, but the funds are yours and you can withdraw anytime. You can export your key, and you can revoke the bot's trading access with /disable_trading.
How do I withdraw?
Wallet β More β Send USDC out, then enter an external Arbitrum One address and an amount.
Funds
What's the difference between my bot wallet and trading balance?
Your bot wallet holds USDC (Arbitrum One) for buy-ins, winnings, and withdrawals. Your trading balance is your capital on Hyperliquid β what you trade with. Move funds between them under Wallet β Move money. See Your wallet & funds.
I moved money to trading but I'm not in a competition.
That's expected β moving funds just gets your capital ready. You join a competition separately by tapping Join on a group's competition card.
Are there any fees?
There's no fee to play β your full buy-in goes into the prize pool. A small 0.1% per-trade fee applies to your trades on Hyperliquid (the standard builder fee). Separately, a host can set an optional creator fee (0β10% of the pool) when creating a competition, which they can only ever lower. See Your wallet & funds.
Competitions
How is the winner decided?
By percentage return for the competition β how much your trading account grew or shrank from the start of the competition to the end, as a percent. Highest wins. See how scoring works.
What happens if a competition doesn't fill?
It's cancelled automatically, and everyone who paid is refunded.
The leaderboard stopped updating after the competition ended.
That's intended. The board freezes to the final result when the competition settles, so late price moves can't change the ranking.
Can I be in more than one competition at once?
Yes. Your trades count toward every live competition you're in.
Hosting
Why can't I run /comp?
/comp and the other host commands are for group admins. Make sure you're an admin in the group, and that the bot has been added as an admin too.
The bot can't pin the leaderboard.
Grant the bot the Pin messages admin permission in your group settings.
