# Action Types Reference

### User Identity & Proof of Humanity

Verify user connections and on-platform achievements.

#### `ENS Imported`

**What it does:** Verifies a user has connected an ENS name to their Layer3 profile.

**Best for:** Building crypto-native communities. Quality user filtering. Pre-qualifying engaged Ethereum users

**Usage tips:** Place early in activation sequences as a simple qualifier. Combine with other identity verifiers for stronger authentication. Great filter for ethereum-focused campaigns. Can indicate higher-value wallets/users.

#### `Gitcoin Passport Score`

**What it does:** Verifies a user's [Gitcoin Passport](https://app.passport.xyz/) score.

**Best for:** Filtering for high-quality participants, preventing sybil.

**Usage tip:** Set score threshold based on your needs. Higher for exclusive drops, lower for broader participation.

#### `CUBEs Minted`

**What it does:** Checks how many CUBEs a user has minted (optionally on specific chains).

**Best for:** Rewarding platform activity, creating loyalty tiers.

**Usage tip:** Great for targeting/segmenting experienced Layer3 users by network, or creating exclusive activations. E.g. must have 50 CUBEs on OP Mainnet to participate.

#### `Social Connections`

**What it does:** Verifies user has connected accounts (Twitter, Discord, Telegram, Email, Github).

**Best for:** Building verified community lists, ensuring real users.

**Usage tip:** Use in early activation steps to build quality user data.

#### `Info Cards`

**What it does:** Displays information, images, and links to users.

**Best for:** Product education, feature announcements, protocol explanations.

**Usage tip:** Keep content concise and include visual elements when possible. **If you use visual elements, try adding only one or two lines of text to ensure everything displays properly on smaller screens.**

#### `Join Telegram Group`

**What it does:** Verifies that a user has joined your specified Telegram group and connected their Telegram account to Layer3.

**Best for:** Growing Telegram communities. Enabling direct user communication. Creating active discussion channels. Time-sensitive announcements

**Usage tip:** Add a "Telegram Connected" step before this. Place early in activation sequences to maintain engagement throughout the campaign. Add Info Card before to explain group value and guidelines.

#### `Join Discord Server`

**What it does:** Verifies that a user has joined your specified Discord server and connected their Discord account to Layer3.

**Best for:** Building long-term communities. Creating role-based access. Supporting detailed discussions. Project governance participation

**Usage tip:** Add a "Discord Connected" step before this. Consider creating a dedicated channel for activation participants. Discord integration enables future role-gating and targeted campaigns.

#### `Advanced Onchain Action`

**What it does:** Highly configurable, verifies any specified onchain action.

**Best for:** Engaging users with your protocol, proving usage.

**Usage tip:** Be specific about expected actions and test thoroughly.

#### `Interact with EVM Contract`

**What it does:** Verifies that a user has interacted with a specific smart contract on any EVM chain. Can be configured to check for specific method calls and date ranges.

**Best for:** Verifying protocol usage. Tracking feature adoption. Validating governance participation. Proof of transaction history

**Usage tip:** Use the optional Method ID to verify specific actions (e.g., staking, voting) and From Date to focus on recent interactions. Always test the verification with your own wallet first since contract interactions can be complex.

#### `Token/NFT Holdings`

**What it does:** Verifies asset ownership or balances.

**Best for:** Token-gated content, holder rewards.

**Usage tip:** Consider minimum thresholds on Token holdings for deeper engagement.

#### `Have POAP`

**What it does:** Checks for specific POAP ownership.

**Best for:** Event attendance verification, exclusive content.

**Usage tip:** Great for post-event engagement campaigns.

#### `Mint NFT`

**What it does:** Verifies that a user has minted a specific NFT (ERC721 or ERC1155) from a null address. Automatically detects token type and handles ERC1155 token IDs.

**Best for:** NFT launch campaigns. Tracking mint participation. Primary market engagement. Community collector verification.

**Usage tip:** Great for NFT drops where you want to verify users minted directly rather than purchased secondary. For ERC1155s, specify token ID when campaign targets specific editions.

#### `Token Transfers`

**What it does:** Verifies specific token movements.

**Best for:** Participation in token/NFT sales, community contributions.

**Usage tip:** Always include clear instructions about amounts and addresses.

**Usage tip:** Use for important resources or landing pages.

#### Complete Activation Dependency

**What it does:** Requires completion of another specified activation.

**Best for:** Creating activation sequences, progressive engagement.

**Usage tip:** Build knowledge or activity progressions.

#### Time Gate

**What it does:** Adds specified waiting period with countdown

**Best for:** Ensuring sustained engagement.

**Usage tip:** Use sparingly - only when a time delay adds value.

#### Custom API Integration

**What it does:** Enables custom verification of anything in your system via API.

**Best for:** Bespoke verification needs, special integrations, offchain actions you need to ensure the user has taken.

### Best Practices

#### Activation Design

* Start with easier actions to build momentum
* Mix action types to maintain engagement
* Use Info Cards before complex actions
* Keep total steps under 5 when possible
* Design compelling incentives. **Every Activation must have an incentive (token, points, NFT allowlist, raffle, etc.) to be approved.** Use token rewards if the activation requires the user to transact onchain.

#### User Experience

* Write clear, concise instructions
* Provide context for why each action matters
* Test activation flow before publishing
* Consider mobile users in design
